Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a Greenfield
Industrial City planned and located approximately 90 km South West
Of Ahmedabad. The Government Of Gujarat has created a legislative
framework for the formation Of a Special Investment Region Act
2009. Under the act, a regional development authority for DSIR has
been established.
The Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority
(DSIRDA) has the responsibility Of planning and development Of
DSIR and will encompass the function Of administering government
land within DSIR. An SPV named Dholera Industrial City Development
Limited (DICDL) has been created between the Central Government
(DMICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) Of Gujarat to
implement the project. Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor
Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC), a special purpose
company, was incorporated to establish, promote and facilitate
development Of the DMIC project.
Spanning approximately 920 sq km, encompassing 22 villages Of the
Dholera Taluka in the District Of Ahmedabad, is envisaged to be
bigger than the city Of Ahmedabad. It is strategically located
between the industrial cities Of Anmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot and
Bhavnagar.
Dholera Industrial City will have its own self-sustaining
ecosystem consisting Of economic drivers through
industrialisation, utility & logistic infrastructure, Social
Infrastructure including education, healthcare and Other public
amenities.
DMICDC, with the support Of the Government Of Gujarat, plans to
create an economically and socially balanced new-age city with
world- class infrastructure and highest quality-of-life standards
with sustainability in the urban form including a sustainable
urban transportation system within and mobile/efficient regional
connectivity with neighbouring cities and the rest of the Country.
The Draft Development Plan aims to create an economically and socially balanced, modern city with world-class infrastructure and high quality of life. Key pillars of the plan include sustainable practices in transportation, waste recycling, urban form, and resource efficiency.

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) was an ambitious $90 billion infrastructure project covering the 1483-km distance between Delhi and Mumbai.
It is a high speed and high capacity railway corridor exclusively meant for the transportation of freight, goods, and commodities.

Dholera International Airport is being developed by the Airports
Authority of India (AA\) with a multi-phase master plan to
ultimately handle 20 million passengers per annum in the future.
The greenfield airport is being developed with the boundary of
Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) as part of the Delhi
Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The airport will feature an
aerocity with 75 hectares for commercial developments, cargo
facilities and ultimately two runways — 3200 m and 4000 m long.
Master Plan
Dholera International Airport will be capable of handling 1.5
million passengers per year after the completion of its Phase 1 in
2025 and 20 million passengers per year after its final phase.
The upcoming airport in Dholera will also cater to Other regions
Of Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad, Surat,
Bharuch, Nadiad and Anand in Gujarat. The first phase Of the
airport is likely to become operational by the year 2024.
